Freemasonry within Charters Towers is in the unique position to offer 3 different constitutions namely: Queensland, Scottish and Irish. There are currently 4 lodges namely: Charters Towers, St John Davenport, Mylne and Corinthian. Freemasonry is an international organisation which is open to men over the age of 18 of all cultures and race.
This lodge was originally consecrated under the Grand Lodge of Scotland and despite being regulated by the United Grand Lodge of Queensland, it still retains its Scottish traditions and ritual. St John Davenport Lodge is a masonic craft lodge which meets on the 4th Tuesday of every month except December and January at the masonic centre Ryan Street Charters Towers.
